OSAT Blog Hop - All About Men

Good morning...and happy Thursday!  I'm hopping with the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop today...and our theme is All About Men theme!

I was thrilled to see this month's theme...because it seems like Father's Day sneaks up on me more quickly each year.  I don't know why I put it off so long...because the dads in our family are pretty easy to please.  In fact...one guy in particular can be pretty happy for a few peanuts...literally.  And so...peanuts it is!

These treat cones are so fun...and easy...and perfect for anyone!  They can hold anything, too...from flowers (like HERE) to sweet treats...and salty snack, too!  Here I used a 9" x 9" square of my favorite new DSP...Pick a Pattern...for both the cone and the letter banner.  It all came together incredibly easily with the Large Letters Framelits Dies and a bit of Basic Black Baker's Twine.

A guy card is in order, too...so I grabbed the Mixed Drinks stamp set...you know, for something to go with the peanut snack.

I'm continuing to work on my water coloring...and I'm liking it more and more...and it was the perfect way to color this cold one!  I think they're kind of cool together (pun intended...ha!)...and I'm a step closer to being ready for Father's Day.  That's a win-win in my book!

And now...click on over to see what my crafty friend Renee has for you!  It's sure to be something wonderful!

#TGIF108 - Sketch Challenge

Good morning...and happy Friday!  Welcome back...and you're just in time for something sweet for this week's TGIF Challenge!

http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/

It's #TGIF108...and it's a sketch challenge!

Image may contain: text

Click the image above to go to the TGIF Challenges blog for all the details.  You'll be able to see what the TGIF designers have shared to inspire you...and you'll also be able to see what other challengers have created, too!  But first...here's my sketch challenge project!

One of the cool things about working from a sketch is that it can be your inspiration for a card, for gift wrap or gift tags...or for bottle tags...like here.  It's root beer float bottle tags...and of course, there's a bit of a back story!  Each summer we're lucky to spend extra time with our grandsons.  We totally enjoy sharing our own childhood memories with them...and we especially love sharing our favorite childhood experiences with them, too!  One my own special childhood memories is my parents taking us for root beer floats.  We'd all pack into our car...after we had our baths and put on our pajamas...and we'd head over to the Dog'n'Suds in our little town.  We'd wait in the car for the "waitress" to come out...we'd place our root beer float order...and then we'd wait for her to come back with our floats!  This was such a special thing to do...mostly because we went out in our pajamas and because we got to eat in our car...and if I close my eyes I can still see (and smell!) it all!  The smell of the food....the sound of the frosty mugs clinking together a bit on the tray are such vivid memories...and I clearly remember watching the tray attach to the car window with the metal clips.  Good times...for sure.  Fast forward to today...and part of our summer tradition with our grandsons is to enjoy a root beer float after bed time...some times at our nearest Culver's...and some times at home...but always after their bath and in their pajamas.  I hope they will always remember these times...and smile...as I do!   And so...to make our first summer floats a bit extra special I though I'd create these fun bottle tags...with a hidden note for each of them, too!

The #TGIF108 sketch was perfect for the simple look I was looking for...and the bottle tags were SUPER easy to make, too!  I started with a 7-1/2" x 3" piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock, scored it at the 2-3/4" mark, and punched the center of the smaller area with a 1-3/4" Circle Punch.  Easy peasy...for sure!

I went totally out my comfort zone to do a bit of water coloring to create the root beer float as the main image...and to create the hidden messages!  To do that I simply cut a layer of white cardstock the same size as the water colored paper (which I scored at 1/2" so it could be lifted to read the message)...stapled them together...and attached them to the Sending Love DSP I had centered on the tag.  I then wrote a sweet message to each of the boys.

How will YOU be inspired by this week's sketch challenge?  You'll find the link to add your own project at the #TGIF108 Challenge page HERE.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Birtrhday Boy

Good morning, friends!  It's hard to believe that January is already "in the books" as they say. I couldn't be happier!  January is typically cold and dreary in northern Illinois...and if I read correctly we actually set a record for the most cloudy days last month.  So...it's on to February...and there's actually a bit of sun peeking out today!

February 1 is one of my favorite days of the year...mostly because we get to celebrate this sassy, silly grandson's birthday!

He's 5 today...and isn't he AWESOME?  And so...because he IS awesome we needed an awesome card...and I found what I needed with the Custom Tee Bundle!  In just a bit I was able to put together something bright and fun for this boy...who in addition to being awesome is bright and fun, too!

Truth be told the Custom Tee Bundle wasn't even on my 2017 Occasions Catalog list.  On impulse I  added it to a recent order...and Oh.My.Goodness...it is AMAZING!  Don't know what I was thinking...but this is one of those impulse buys that I'll never regret.

It's perfect if the classic white tee is your style...but if you need something more this bundle truly delivers.  Dress the tees up...or down...as you see fit for cards...or packaging...like this.

And there are so many more options with the coordinating FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp set Designer Tee!  Here's a tiny peek at the stamp set...and a some fun ways to use them with the Custom Tee Bundle.  So much goodness...
