Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Hello...and welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop...our open hop for September! I'm so happy you're here!
When the Artisan "box" arrives I'm always excited...eyes wide opened...and a bit anxious to see what our assignment might be. Without fail the ideas pour in...and I typically jot down a few notes to remember some of the things that jump out at me...and I'm glad I do...because I tend to forget! Ha! Anyway... going over my notes for this project I saw that I had written down "pair sentiments - Thoughtful Banners and Oh, What Fun". So...that's what I've done...with this holiday note card and matching gift bag.

For this sweet, sparkly note card I've used holiday from Thoughtful Banners...and wishes from Oh, What Fun...

and I've used Happy Christmas from Oh, What Fun and from us Thoughtful Banners for my gift bag. I absolutely love this kind of versatility! What sentiments could you pair to get the just right sentiment or look for your project?

Technique Tips:

Adorning your holiday cards and gift packaging don't necessarily require everything holiday! Here, I've cut a couple of Flourish Thinlits dies in Emerald Envy Cardstock...and they're the perfect look for these holiday projects.
The smaller doily on the note card is actually the reverse, white side of one of the 2015-2017 In Color Doilies! It's card or note card size...and works perfectly as the card's match to the bag's Delicate White Doily.

Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team

Welcome to another Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop! I'm so happy you're here! It's "open" hop time...which I always love...and with the Fourth of July just around the corner I wanted to do something a bit patriotic...and something vintage-y...and something to hold a few sweet treats. And so...

paper poppers...without the pop...but festive just the same! I seriously can't help but smile about these little boxes...sometimes called candy wrappers or crackers. Whatever you'd like to call them...they're like a party...perfectly ready for a celebration...and in this case a July Fourth celebration!

I found the perfect paper design in the Morrocan Designer Series Paper. This tiny print featuring Dapper Denim so sweetlly reminded me of an apron my Grandma wore... perfect for these poppers! After cutting and assembling the boxes I used my Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad and Sponge Daubers to give a weathered, aged look to the box's folds. Vintage-y...check. I then created the tags using the Large Numbers Framelits, Stars Framelits, 2" Circle Punch and Thoughtful Banners stamp set and tied the tags to the poppers with Linen Thread. Patriotic...check.

Technique Tips:

These little poppers are totally customizable! Seriously. Cut them from any paper. Embellish them in any way you wish. Make them longer or shorter or wider or more narrow. Fabulous! And...just imagine what you can put in them. The sky's the limit!
I lightly inked the "4s" with the Soft Suede ink...and "crumpled" the Cherry Cobbler circle. I loved how it gave a bit of age to the tags, also.
My fellow Artisan Design Team member Connie Colllins has a fab tutorial for two box sizes. Here...I used a 6x6 paper, scoring at 1-3/8", 2-3/4", 4-1/8"and 5-1/2" on one side...and at 1/2", 1", 1-1/2" 4-1/2", 5" and 5-1//2" on the other. Punches were made at the 1" and 5" score lines. I needed them to hold a LOT of sweet treats.
