A Little Something Trick or Treat...13 Days of Halloween Day 3!

This little box...

happened because of these little cookies...

which were a special treat for these little faces.

Hard working little faces, that is!

Collecting, load and unloading walnuts was hard work...and a sweet treat was definitely in order!
I saw the cookies on Pinterest...mellowcreme pumpkins in peanut butter cookie dough.  Peanut butter cup in peanut butter cookie dough is our Christmas Eve cookie...it's a tradition.  Santa Claus loves them...and so do we.  Anything would be good in peanut butter cookie dough...right?
Well...I don't know about anything...but mellowcreme pumpkins are.  And then...add a chocolate drizzle...just because you can.  Oh My Goodness!  A.MA.ZING!

Before I go on, though, I have to say that you have to start with a great cookie dough.  I've tried my fair share of recipes...and I have to say that the best peanut butter cookie dough recipe belongs to the Barefoot Contessa.
You can find it in this book:
 http://www.barefootcontessa.com/cookbooks_details.aspx?CookbookID=5

or you can get it here!

Barefoot Contessa Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookies
 Ingredients:
    • 1 cup butter
    • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
    • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
  1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. In a small bow, sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to wet ingredients, just to combine.
  3. Stir in chocolate.
  4. Bake at 350 for 17 minutes. Cookies will seem underdone, but do not let brown on top.
For the mellowcreme pumpkin cookies, omit the chocolate chunks and drop by the tablespoon into a mini muffin pan and cook 6-8 minutes...or until just barely brown.  Push the pumpkin into the warm cookie dough and cool.  Drizzle with melted chocolate chips.

Now...in my opinion a special cookie always deserves special packaging...and Happy Hauntings DSP and the Gift Box Punchboard seemed to be perfect for this one!
If you don't have this punchboard...now's the time to grab one!  It's perfect for the holidays, it's an incredible versatile tool, and it's available on the Weekly Deals this week at 25% off!

I made the smallest, 1.75 x 1.75 box, but the board makes boxes up to 4" on each side!
In about a minute I stamped this Trick or Treat sentiment from the A Little Something Stamp Set, punched it out with the 2"Circle Punch and attached it ...and then added a bit Mossy Meadow 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon

It doesn't get any easier than that!

As always...
