Fancy Friday Blog Hop - Artwork Challenge

Welcome to the Fancy Friday Blog Hop...a super fun hop where I'm lucky enough to get to work with some fancy friends...who are also past and current Stampin' Up! Artisans!  On the last Friday of each month we hop with a new challenge...and this month the challenge is to create a card without a sentiment or any wording on the front and to instead create a piece of ART!

So, first...here's my card...my art...

and a bit of backstory.  When my daughter got married several years ago we used a #10 card size for the ceremony programs and for the menu cards.  A #10 card (also known as a tea length card) is BIG (9-1/4 x 4)...and you can put a LOT on a card that size!  I'm not sure why...because I really liked #10 card, but I don't think I've made one since then ...nearly seven years ago!  I'm kind of the same about butterflies.  I like them...and I have all of the current Stampin' Up! butterfly dies and stamps...but I rarely use them.  So...when I was inspired to pull out the butterflies for this challenge, I just knew the #10 card size would be the perfect base for my art.

This card's large size...along with the neutrals and the butterfly variations...really do look like art.  I love it...so much that I made several to share...and I just might frame one!

Thank you so much for stopping by for the Fancy Friday Blog Hop!  I hope you're inspired to create you own artwork card...and I'd LOVE to see it!  So...post it, using #fancyfridaybloghop when you share it...and let me or one of my fancy friends know!

And now...hop over to my see what my talented, fancy friend Krista has to share!

  1. Beautiful! I love the crisp contrast. The tea-card is a special touch, too - doesn't get used enough! XOXO

  2. I was really surprised I like this card! Who knew? When you say this card is 9 1/4" x 4" , is that finished, cardstock size? Was wanting to make a tall skinny card, just didn't know the numbers!

    1. Hi Gloria! Thank you for your kind comment! And yes...the finished size of this card is 9-1/4" x 4"...so the cardstock is cut at 9-1/4" x 8 and scored at 4". It's a large card...and perfect when you want you want to create a card with a large impact. Thank you again! :)
